Is Prince Charles really “meddling” in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding plans? That’s the latest claim coming from one of the tabloids, but Gossip Cop can set the record straight. We’re told it’s “not true.”

According to the National Enquirer, a “pushy” Prince Charles has “ignited a wedding war,” and it’s caused a “royal rumble at Buckingham Palace.” In the piece, a so-called “source” is quoted as telling the gossip magazine, “At a time when everyone should be happily looking forward to a royal celebration, the family has been ripped apart, with no reconciliation in sight!” And in terribly unnatural language, the often disproven outlet continues to claim that Prince Charles is trying to “take charge” of Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding reception, but the couple has told him to take a “royal leap off a cliff!”

If the story wasn’t ridiculous enough, the publication goes on to contend that Prince Harry has banned his father from attending his bachelor party, escalating their supposed feud even further. “Egged on by Camilla, Charles told Harry the ‘Suits’ actress wasn’t suitable to become a royal wife because she’s older, American and biracial,” adds the tabloid’s questionable insider, before bizarrely asserting, “Three strikes and you’re out at the palace.” And to conclude its seemingly made-up report, the Enquirer quotes its alleged “source” as saying, “[Prince Charles and Prince Harry] are both so stubborn, I can’t see either backing down.”

But coming from the same outlet that previously claimed Princes Charles thought Buckingham Palace was haunted, Gossip Cop is hardly surprised by its latest piece of royal fiction. A palace insider tells us the claim about Prince Charles supposedly “meddling” in Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding plans is 100 percent “not true.” There’s no such feud taking place between the father and son, who in reality, are very close. In fact, during a recent radio interview hosted by Prince Harry, Prince Charles referred to his youngest son as his “darling boy.”

Of course, as Gossip Cop noted above, this isn’t the first time we’ve corrected the supermarket tabloid for publishing a bogus report about the Duke of Cornwall. Remember, we corrected the publication in August when it falsely alleged that Prince Charles can only be king for seven years before being forced to hand the crown to his son Prince William in 2024. Much like that phony claim, this latest one is equally manufactured.
