Piers Morgan voiced his newfound support for Donald Trump following the terrorist attacks in Brussels on Tuesday. The TV personality wrote an open letter to express his outrage, and also advocate for the Republican presidential candidate’s proposed policies to combat ISIS.

As Gossip Cop reported earlier, ISIS has claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s bombings at a Brussels airport and subway station that killed 30 people and injured around 200 more. “How many more? That’s all I could think this morning as news broke of yet another ISIS terror attack,” Morgan began in a piece for the Daily Mail. “How many more innocent men, women and children are going to be blown to pieces by these murderous bastards?”

Morgan went on to note that he interviewed Trump on his UK Show, “Good Morning Britain,” right after the attacks. “Here is one man who definitely has a plan to deal with ISIS terrorism,” Morgan said, after slamming President Obama for supposedly having “zero interest in doing anything tangible” to stop ISIS. Morgan then quoted Trump as saying on his talk show, “You’ve got to take [ISIS] out ,and you’ve got to take them out harshly and you’ve got to take them out fast… so hard they never recover.”

The British journalist then gave a rundown of some of Trump’s plans to prevent future terror attacks, while noting he approved of each strategy. “He told me countries must tighten their borders… [and] he wants law-abiding Muslims to root out the extremists in their midst,” recalled Morgan. “He told me America must make it far harder for illegal immigrants to enter the U.S. and thinks European countries should follow suit.” Morgan followed up Trump’s various points by repeatedly asking, “Is he so wrong?”

Morgan further expressed that while interviewing the GOP presidential frontrunner, “I didn’t feel I was talking to a lunatic, as many seem to view Trump.” He added, “I saw a guy, a non-politician unfettered by PC language restraints, who is genuinely furious at the devastation which ISIS is wreaking, and seriously concerned for the security of his fellow Americans and indeed, the citizens of Europe.”

As Gossip Cop previously reported, Morgan publicly criticized Trump in December over the presidential candidate’s proposed policy of temporarily banning all Muslims from entering the United States. But in light of the horrific attacks in Brussels, the TV and print journalist appears to be reevaluating his stance on the issue of dealing with terrorism. “Hate Donald Trump all you like,” concluded Morgan, “but at least he seems to recognize the magnitude of the threat and at least he has firm proposals for how to try to defeat it.”
