Patrick Dempsey is NOT having marriage problems again, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the story.
According to RadarOnline, "Patrick Dempsey 'is playing Russian roulette with his marriage' to Jillian Fink once again by putting his film career before family." A so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "Patrick's thrown himself into work as a substitute for giving up his beloved car racing to win Jillian back. But it's going way too far and he spends more time in his office or taking meetings than ever before."
The site goes on to allege that although the couple "seemed to be back on the right path" after reconciling last year, "Dempsey's newfound career aspirations come at a tricky time since his family — and especially his little girl — needs him more than ever." The supposed source claims, "His daughter Tallula's now 15 and itching to get into showbiz and start hanging out with Hollywood 'It' girls. She's turning into a hormone-fuelled nightmare and Jillian needs Patrick's focus back on the family before it's too late."
"While Dempsey and Fink have had their fair share of fights over how strict they need to be — he tends to be more the disciplinarian while she thinks their teen needs her freedom — he's been too absent to be consistent," asserts the webloid. Its alleged tipster further contends, "There's no doubt that Tallula idolizes her dad and Jillian's convinced he's the only one who can keep her on the straight and narrow."
First off, it's bad enough spinning false tales about actual celebrities. But it's always worse when these disreputable publications drag in non-famous, minor-aged children. And Dempsey is nothing if not a devoted dad to his daughter and twin sons. He is also devoted to Fink and their family, and Gossip Cop is exclusively told that any suggestion to the contrary is "nonsense."
It's also worth noting that RadarOnline previously tried to paint the actor in a negative light when it falsely claimed Dempsey was "fired" from "Grey's Anatomy" for "bad behavior." And the online outlet's print counterparts (Star, OK! and the National Enquirer) have spent the last year and a half wrongly linking him to Sophie Monk, Jennifer Garner, and Renee Zellweger. It's clear none of them know what they're talking about. By the way, that's Dempsey and Fink pictured happily above at the Vanity Fair Oscar party less than two weeks ago.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
