Sam Heughan and ‎Caitriona Balfe teased season 3 of “Outlander” on Friday’s “GMA,” two days before the highly-anticipated premiere. Check out the video below!

The second season of “Outlander” ended more than a year ago, but due to the extensive filming required for the new episodes, fans had to endure a long waiting period known as “Droughtlander.” The hiatus is finally coming to an end this weekend, and the actors are currently on a press tour to preview the new storylines. But on “Good Morning America,” Lara Spencer was already hoping there will be many more seasons to come, provided Outlander author Diana Gabaldon keeps penning novels, although there’s eight already.

“She’s always writing, to be honest,” Heughan assured. “We hope to be here in about nine years’ time.” Spencer’s next question was what every non-book reader wants to know: Will their characters Jamie and Claire, separated by time and distance, ever reunite? Balfe responded, “I think it’s safe to say there may be a reunion in the future… I think it’s not too much of a spoiler. It’s definitely an 18th century reunion.” Finishing her sentence, Heughan said, “In a print shop somewhere. It happens. Obviously, they do spend 20 years apart, so the season does cover some of that time apart, but yeah, there will be this grand reunion.”

Added Balfe, “I don’t think we can let these two be separated for too long.” The actress went on to gush about the Starz show as a whole, saying, “I think we both love coming to work. We love our job. Scotland’s so beautiful. The show has just been such an amazing thing from day one. I mean, everything from the sets to the costumes, our crew’s amazing.” Noting that the morning show’s Times Square set had some Scottish influences for their interview, Heughan joked, “And every where we go, we take Scotland with us… Soon this will be a forest.”

Spencer also asked Balfe about her work as a Victoria’s Secret model, which prompted to her reveal, “Obviously I’ve got that great Celtic white skin, and when I did do the VS show, they sent me for a spray tan. And I came back, and they were like, ‘It’s not dark enough. Please go again.’ It was the time of all the Brazilian girls and I was still definitely the whitest girl there.” And a fan asked Balfe what advice she would give her younger self if she actually could travel back in time.

“Trust your instinct and don’t be afraid. Many times in our lives, we have an opportunity to make a big change and fear can stop us. I say go for it,” she replied. Spencer commented, “That sounds very Claire, doesn’t it?” She went on to introduce the actors to a “real-life couple whose love has endured the test of time and distance.” After hearing their story, Balfe remarked, “That’s a testament to true love, I think. It’s a bit like Jamie and Claire.” And to further set the mood, the segment ended with men playing Scottish bagpipes.

As Gossip Cop reported, Heughan and Balfe stopped by “The View” on Thursday. Watch the new “GMA” video below!
