Olivia Munn is calling out celebrities for using Instagram and other social media just to show off their lives and bodies for attention. “Why are you posting selfies?” she asked, during a recent HuffPost Live interview. “The only reason is to get more followers and get likes. So you are not just doing your ‘art’ because you want to be a great artist. You want the fame and attention.” Watch the video below.

The actress makes a distinction between the idea of trying to become famous for the sake of fame versus gaining attention in the hopes of getting better roles as an actor or actress. She explains, “If followers were the number one thing to getting a career, all the Kardashians would be in every big movie of the year.”

“As an actor, you have to be able to ask the audience to suspend their disbelief when they watch you [in a movie],” says Munn. “You can’t put out so much and then ask for your privacy. You can’t put out so much stuff and then expect people to take you seriously all the time, if you’re always posting from every vacation that you’re on, and your relationships, and putting your kids out there.”

The star says she’s still figuring out her own boundaries on social media, but tends to focus on fashion and her work rather than personal stuff. Not that she can stick to that rule all the time. Munn does admit, “I’m sure people are tired of my puppy pictures.” Watch the video below, and tell us what you think about Munn’s opinion.
