North West was the target of a crude and sexual tweet by Billboard, which is now being slammed on social media for using Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s two-year-old daughter as the butt of an inappropriate joke. See the tweet below.

As Gossip Cop reported on Wednesday, North yelled “No pictures!” at a group of paparazzi who were snapping photos of her as she entered a ballet class. The video went viral, and many people couldn’t help but point out that North’s contempt for the paparazzi was similar to that of her dad’s.

On Thursday, Billboard tweeted a link to its article about the incident, along with an arbitrary photo of North licking a lollipop while being carried by Kardashian. The magazine captioned the picture, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” Again, the story was about North taking after her father, and yet the magazine used the lollipop image with Kardashian to promote the article. Since then, photo has been widely interpreted by many angry people on social media as a reference to North being on the same sexualized path as her mom, who shot to stardom after the release of her infamous sex tape.

Billboard’s tweet was slammed by many Twitter users for being “reprehensible,” “disgusting” and “gross,” among other things. The tweet has since been taken down, though Gossip Cop has a screenshot of it below. The tweet was later replaced with a different caption which reads, “North West is already pretty sassy (but in a cute way).” Of course, once something goes up on the Internet, it becomes a matter of public discourse, and the screenshots have continued to cause an uproar.

See below the initial tweet and photo posted by Billboard, as well as the follow-up tweet, and tell Gossip Cop what you think.
