Nina Dobrev believes Donald Trump is acting more like a “reality star on a terrible, horrible show” than a president. “The Vampire Diaries” star makes the comments, in which she also calls for his impeachment, in the September issue of Harper By Harper’s Bazaar.

Dobrev, who was born in Bulgaria and moved to Canada when she was 2 years old, tells the magazine of Trump’s rhetoric and bans on immigration, “I come from an immigrant family, and I think it’s unacceptable to treat anyone like that.” She goes on, “Hopefully he’ll get impeached. Or indicted. Or both. He just doesn’t act like a president. He acts like a reality star on a terrible, horrible show that should never be aired.”

“And he’s responsible for incredibly important decisions for the country that I live in, so my opinion does matter whether or not I had a chance to vote,” adds the actress, who openly supported Hillary Clinton during the presidential election. She did not hide that allegiance on Instagram, leading to a sizeable backlash. Dobrev reveals, “Whenever I did one of those posts, I was inundated with negative comments, some of the most horrific things I’ve ever seen written. But I’m entitled to my opinion, and if you don’t want to see the things I’m saying, don’t follow me.”

That said, Dobrev hasn’t posted on Instagram about Trump in quite some time. Her last political social media post came in late July when the star retweeted activist Michael Skolnik, who noted, “61 days of protecting Melania living in Trump Tower cost more than the medical services for all 15,000 transgender members of the military.” That same day, Dobrev tweeted that Trump was an “idiot” for turning his back on the LGBTQ community with his ban on transgender people serving in the military. Noting that Canada has no such restrictions, she wrote in another Twitter message, “Follow by your neighbors example. #ProudToBeCanadian.”
