Nikolaj Coster Waldau GMA Game of Thrones

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the star of HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” appeared on Thursday’s “Good Morning America” to talk about the current and upcoming season of the show. Watch the full “GMA” video below!

During the interview, the “Good Morning America” panel expressed their love for the hit show. When the fantasy series’ episodes were compared to feature-length films, Coster-Waldau noted, “At this point in the show, it takes longer to shoot than a movie when we do these episodes. Episode four, which was two weeks ago, this big battle, it took a long time [to shoot].” He continued, teasing fans, “On Sunday, we have another sequence, and that’s even longer and that’s the ice version of that.”

In the midst of discussing “Game of Thrones,” actor also promoted his new film Shot Caller, a gritty prison drama. “The writer and director wrote this beautiful script. It’s a story I could identify with, and I think everyone could,” said Coster-Waldau. His “Jaime Lannister” training, however, didn’t help the star in his new role. “I tried to introduce swords and stuff, but that didn’t work out,” he joked.

Coster-Waldau went on to talk about the final season of “Game of Thrones,” and revealed he wants to keep one particularly iconic prop to remember his time as Jaime Lannister. “If there was one thing I wanted to take, it would be the golden hand. It’s the coolest prop ever. I could use it like a coffee table thing, have fruits and dried nuts in it,” he said. And in a nod to his character, the actor gifted Michael Strahan with a “golden pinky” after the anchor injured his finger.

As Gossip Cop reported, Stephen Colbert shared ‘leaked’ “Game of Thrones” spoilers on the “Late Show,” mocking HBO’s latest security breach. In one “leak” from an upcoming episode, the late night host joked that “all of the main characters die before the last episode,” and the finale is “just an hour of people farming.” Watch Coster-Waldau’s full “GMA” interview below!
