Nicolle Wallace and Rosie Perez’s future on “The View” is up in the air, Gossip Cop confirms. Get all the exclusive details below!

Wallace and Perez both joined the ABC talk show as new full-time co-hosts last fall, following Barbara Walters’ retirement and the exits of Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd. Perez was said to be on the chopping block earlier this year, but a firing never materialized. Now with the current season nearing its end, Gossip Cop has learned that “conversations” about the panel for the next season have “just begun.”

Producers are talking to both Wallace and Perez about what their part will be going forward, if any. “There’s no decision that’s been made about their role for season 19 at this point,” Gossip Cop is told. “Rosie’s had an amazing year, becoming a co-host and the success of [Broadway play] Fish In The Dark. Part of that conversation will be what does she want to do in the future?”

As for Wallace, “Nicolle has always had role on MSNBC as well. Going into election season, there’s a demand with person in that position. So there will be a conversation about that, too.” Both situations suggest that Wallace and Perez could be back full-time, part-time, or not at all.

While that may seem vague, or even obvious, one thing Gossip Cop has confirmed is they have NOT been fired. With “more of this season to still play out,” producers are keeping their options open. And names such as Michelle Collins, who has been a frequent guest co-host alongside new co-host Raven-Symone, are definitely in the mix (see photo above).

There’s no timetable for an announcement, but fans can expect news in the “coming weeks,” after the current season ends. The potential “View” changes were first reported by Variety. Gossip Cop will have updates.
