Ever since “Big Little Lies” premiered in early 2017, there have been several false tabloid stories about co-stars Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon feuding. Gossip Cop has been debunking this bogus narrative for quite some time. The premise was further proven untrue at Keith Urban’s recent concert.

The country star surprised two fans on stage at his Graffiti U world tour in Nashville on Friday night when he introduced them to his famous wife, who made a surprise appearance at the show. But that wasn’t all. Urban then brought out Witherspoon, who organized a selfie with the group. It’s clear the “Big Little Lies” co-stars are close friends considering that Witherspoon accompanied Kidman to her husband’s concert, but that’s not what the tabloids would have you believe.

The first rumors of a rift began back in March 2017 when Star wrongly reported that Kidman and Witherspoon were feuding because Kidman was supposedly more focused on promoting her movie Lion than their HBO series. At the time, Witherspoon’s rep assured us the story was “completely made up.” But that didn’t stop OK! from claiming a few months later that Kidman and Witherspoon were battling over Emmy nominations. That, too, was a total fabrication. In fact, Witherspoon congratulated her co-star on Twitter when she won the Emmy last September.

Still, a few weeks after the 2017 Emmys, OK! insisted that the “Big Little Lies” co-stars were “frenemies.” In December of last year, Life & Style falsely claimed that Kidman and Witherspoon were “fake friends” who secretly “can’t stand each other.” Earlier this month, Woman’s Day wrongly reported that Witherspoon had “dumped” Kidman as a friend while shooting the second season of their hit series. Of course, the magazine didn’t mention that Witherspoon posted an Instagram tribute to her co-star in June in honor of her birthday.

Most recently, Gossip Cop busted In Touch for making up a story about Witherspoon being furious with Kidman for landing the movie and TV rights to the upcoming book by the same author of “Big Little Lies.” None of these outlets bothered to note that the co-stars frequently spend time together when they’re not working and give shoutouts to each other on social media.

For example, when the second season of the HBO show wrapped filming earlier this month, Witherspoon tweeted, “Big love to my #BigLittleLies sisters @NicoleKidman @LauraDern @shailenewoodley @ZoeKravitz #MerylStreep thank you for all the love & incredible partnership!” At this point, the feud rumors should officially be put to rest, but Gossip Cop suspects the tabloids will continue pushing the ridiculous narrative.
