A new report claims Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s PDA on the red carpet at last month’s Cannes Film Festival was faked for the cameras, but this simply isn’t the case. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this story.

The spouses of nearly 11 years were very affectionate at the May 22 premiere of her upcoming film, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, in southern France. But an article in the latest issue of Star claims the romantic display was all for show. A supposed source tells the magazine, “They were nuzzling, nibbling, soft whispers – the works. Their escorts at Cannes were heard making gagging noises. It looked so rehearsed.”

The outlet’s dubious insider continues, “As soon as they were out of view, Keith and Nicole dropped the act. They wouldn’t even look at each other! They took out their phones and texted other people instead.” But Gossip Cop looked into the magazine’s story, and we’ve discovered that it’s entirely inaccurate.

A mutual pal of ours and the happily married couple assures us they weren’t feigning intimacy at the event for the sake of the public. We’re told the tabloid’s claim otherwise is simply “ridiculous.” In fact, this isn’t the first time we’ve called out Star for publishing a phony story of a similar ilk.

Gossip Cop previously busted the publication’s tall tale about Kidman and Urban faking red carpet PDA at the Australian premiere of her film, Lion. Shortly before that nonsense, we debunked the outlet’s bogus cover story alleging Urban was caught cheating on Kidman. This latest article from the frequently discredited tabloid is equally untrue.
