When the tabloids aren't making up stories about Nicole Kidman's personal life, they often target her professionally. Gossip Cop has debunked several phony reports about the actress's movie career. Here are five wrong rumors.
Back in November, Gossip Cop busted Grazia for falsely asserting Kidman was teaming up with Katie Holmes for a "Hollywood production." The bogus premise was concocted simply because both actresses were previously married to Tom Cruise. The article was based on claims from an anonymous "source," but Holmes' rep told us on the record it was "untrue." Both Kidman and Holmes have signed on for a number of projects in the five months since we debunked the story, and none of those projects involve each other.
In February 2018, Gossip Cop called out Woman's Day for making up a story about Kidman helping husband Keith Urban to become a movie star. The outlet maintained the country star wanted to launch a second career on the big screen, and his wife was helping him achieve his goal. But just a few weeks before the article emerged, Kidman was asked in an interview if she'd ever collaborate with Urban on-screen, and the actress said her husband has no interest in acting.
In December 2017, Gossip Cop debunked an OK! story about Kidman feuding with Amber Heard on the set of Aquaman. The magazine contended they were at odds over jealousy issues. In the time since we corrected that article, Heard opened up in an interview about meeting Kidman for the first time, and even addressed the false rumors of friction between them. Heard noted she had read an untrue tabloid tale about her "feuding" with Kidman before they even started working together. Heard went on to say they immediately "got along." This was made apparent on the film's promotional circuit, during which the two actresses frequently praised each other.
Gossip Cop busted Star in November 2017 for wrongly reporting Kidman would be replacing Kim Cattrall in Sex and the City 3. Cattrall had made it clear she no longer wanted to be involved in the franchise, and according to the magazine, Kidman would be taking over the role of Samantha Jones. A rep for Sarah Jessica Parker, the star and producer of the films, told us back then the story was fabricated. As recently as a few months ago, Parker said she "can't imagine" making a third Sex and the City movie without Cattrall.
And finally, Gossip Cop called out OK! in March 2017 for alleging Urban gave Kidman an ultimatum to end her movie career or he'd end their marriage. The outlet claimed the country star was tired of the Oscar-winner supposedly being more focused on her work than their relationship. In reality, the spouses are very supportive of each other's careers, and Urban frequently accompanies his wife to her film premieres. Kidman and Urban have also both opened up in interviews about balancing their schedules to ensure they spend time together. The actress has continued working steadily and she remains happily married.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
