A new report claiming Nicole Kidman is upset about Keith Urban working on music with Sophie Monk is entirely untrue. For starters, the actress’s husband isn’t even collaborating with the model-singer, Urban himself has confirmed. Gossip Cop can debunk this nonsense.

Monk, who recently starred on the Australian version of “The Bachelorette,” split from boyfriend Stu Laundy shortly after the show ended. According to the tabloid New Idea, the TV personality wants to get over her heartbreak by reviving her music career, which ended in 2003 shortly after her girl group Bardot parted ways. As the story goes, Monk has turned to Urban for help.

A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “They met in Los Angeles when Sophie was trying to forge a career in Hollywood, and they have stayed friendly over the years. With all the commotion caused by her appearance on ‘The Bachelorette,’ Sophie has been thinking about getting out of Australia for a while. She has been doing a lot of crying on Keith’s shoulder.”

The outlet’s questionable insider adds, “Sophie’s been telling him how she wants to be a country singer. She’s got the looks and the voice, and Keith has invited her over to Nashville to spend some time in a recording studio. He has even offered to write a few songs for her.”

The magazine’s seemingly phony tipster goes on to say that Kidman “overheard Keith talking to Sophie on the phone” about their supposed collaboration plans, and she’s not happy about the two working together. The actress will soon be away from her home in Nashville to shoot the second season of HBO’s “Big Little Lies,” “and the last thing she wants is Sophie hanging around town while she isn’t there,” says the suspicious source.

However, there’s one major problem with the tabloid’s account of events: Urban and Monk aren’t collaborating on music together. On Thursday, the country singer was asked on the “Kyle and Jackie O” show about the rumor that Monk had reached out to him about recording music together. Urban let out a big laugh and added, “I heard that rumor, too.” He further confirmed that the claim is “complete, absolute, utter B.S.”

Additionally, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Kidman, who declined to comment on the record but echoed Urban’s response about the magazine’s story being fabricated. New Idea is attempting to create phony marital drama and a nonexistent love triangle, but there’s clearly no truth to any of it.
