Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's marriage is often the subject of phony tabloid stories. Gossip Cop frequently debunks false reports about the spouses. Here are five recent wrong rumors.
Earlier this month, Gossip Cop busted Star for wrongly reporting the couple was expecting a "miracle baby." The outlet maintained the 51-year-old actress had gotten pregnant following a series of IVF treatments. A supposed source told the magazine Kidman and the country star planned to move from Nashville to Australia to raise their baby. Not only did Kidman's rep tell us on the record that she's not expecting another child, but the actress herself has said she's done having kids. Just a few weeks ago, Kidman told People magazine that if she had met Urban at a younger age, they'd likely have had a lot of children together, but they're satisfied with two together at this point.
Gossip Cop called out New Idea last November for falsely claiming Kidman staged an intervention for Urban and sent him to rehab following a near-relapse. The country star went to rehab for drug and alcohol addiction in 2006, but he's been sober ever since. According to the unreliable outlet, Urban came close to falling off the wagon, so his wife sent him to stay in a rehab facility for a few weeks.
The story was based on claims from an anonymous tipster, but the musician's rep told Gossip Cop on the record it was completely fabricated. Shortly before the article was published, Urban opened up about his sobriety during a South by Southwest panel, noting that his wife helped him get clean more than 12 years ago. He's been committed to his sobriety ever since.
Also last November, Gossip Cop debunked an OK! story about Kidman and Urban having a third baby to save their marriage. The tabloid contended the actress was sporting a "baby bump" at the premiere of her movie Boy Erased. An alleged insider said she and Urban had decided in couples therapy to have another child to overcome supposed marriage problems.
The happy spouses, who are regularly spotted on date nights and showing PDA at awards show, were never on the brink of a split. Meanwhile, Kidman has said she doesn't want more kids on more than one occasion. In addition to the example mentioned above, the actress also told "Entertainment Tonight" in 2017, "I think I'm past that point now. But I'm very thrilled with what I have."
Gossip Cop busted Woman's Day last October for claiming Urban was upset about Russell Crowe praising his wife in interviews. The actor had many kind words to say about Kidman while promoting their movie Boy Erased, but according to the publication, her husband was sick of Crowe's gushing. In reality, Kidman and Crowe have been friends for more than 30 years.
The two stars met in Australia in the '80s, and Urban has become good friends with the actor as well. In the past, Urban has even brought Crowe on stage to perform at his concerts. There's no jealous love triangle going on.
And finally, Gossip Cop called out the Globe last August for wrongly alleging Kidman was filing for divorce from her husband. The tabloid claimed the actress was sick of Urban's "wandering eye, his history of drug addiction and lies." The outlet provided zero proof of the musician ever cheating or lying.
As for the addiction issues, Urban has been sober for more than 12 years, as we noted above. Less than a week before the article was published last year, Kidman shared an Instagram photo of her husband on stage at his concert in Nashville, along with a heart emoji. It was clear then that the spouses weren't headed for a divorce, and it's become even more certain all these months later.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
