Is Nicole Kidman actually helping Keith Urban to become a movie star? That's the ridiculous claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this tall tale.
According to the Australian version of Woman's Day, the country singer wants a second career as an A-list Hollywood actor, so his wife is becoming his agent to help him achieve his dream. A so-called "source" tells the magazine, "She was calling herself his 'wagent,' wife and agent, saying she's going to coin the phrase just like Kris Jenner did with 'momager.'" The outlet's questionable insider goes on to say that Urban has already gone out on a few film auditions.
The publication then insists that the country star would have been "perfect for" the roles of Wolverine, Thor and Iron Man, played by Hugh Jackman, Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr., respectively. Regardless of what the magazine may think about Urban's potential to be a superhero, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the singer, who laughed off the outlet's bizarre article before exclusively assuring us on background that it's "not true."
In fact, Kidman said in a recent interview that she doesn't see her husband going into acting anytime soon. When asked if she and Urban would ever consider teaming up on screen, the actress said, "I don't think that having a cameo on one of my projects would interest him, to be honest." Also, Urban is kicking off a 59-date world tour in June, so he wouldn't even have time to become a movie star.
It should be noted, Woman's Day Australia frequently publishes bogus stories about Kidman. Gossip Cop recently called out the magazine for wrongly reporting that the actress was preparing to "tell the truth" about what went on during her 17-year marriage to Tom Cruise. There was no validity to that story, and the tabloid has no more insight into her current marriage. Gossip Cop can confirm that Kidman isn't becoming her husband's film agent.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
