A tabloid claims Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are using the holidays as an opportunity to undergo marriage counseling. Gossip Cop can debunk the phony story. There's no truth to it.
According to New Idea, the spouses will be attending couple's therapy during their trip to Sydney, Australia to celebrate Christmas. The magazine doesn't even quote a single "source" in its piece, which is purely speculative and baseless. Instead, the outlet merely suggests that Kidman and Urban "could use this time to focus on their marriage."
As for the reason behind the speculation, the tabloid says the spouses have "been very open about how rehab and therapy" helped Urban get sober back in 2007. We're failing to see a connection here. From there, the magazine says the couple's holiday trip to Sydney "might also prompt them to consider a permanent relocation to Australia" to help save their relationship. However, the couple's marriage isn't in need of saving and they're perfectly happy owning homes around the globe.
The magazine's report is based on nothing at all. On Sunday, Kidman and Urban were photographed smiling and holding hands as he picked her up from the airport in Sydney. The spouses will be celebrating Christmas in Australia with their two daughter and other members of their family. They're not squeezing in marriage counseling during the trip, and have no reason to do so. A source close to the couple tells us the tabloid's report is nonsense.
Unfortunately, New Idea has been trying to break up the happy couple for quite some time. Back in April 2018, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for falsely claiming Kidman and Urban were getting a "$413 million divorce" following a failed "counseling retreat" in Vermont. They never attended any sort of marriage retreated, and as time has proven, they're still very much together.
By November 2018, the magazine had switched gears and said Kidman and Urban were having a baby boy, either through adoption or surrogacy. That never happened. A few weeks later, the magazine ignored that storyline and came up with a new one about Kidman sending Urban to rehab after a near relapse. That was total fiction as well.
Less than a month ago, the outlet concocted a story about the singer Pink saving Kidman and Urban's marriage. If that's the case, why are they going to couple's therapy this Christmas? The answer is that they aren't. The outlet's reporting about the couple is all over the place. The tabloid simply has no insight into their relationship.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
