The tabloids are constantly alleging Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are headed for a divorce. Gossip Cop has debunked many false claims about the happy couple’s marriage. Here are five wrong rumors.
Last month, Gossip Cop called out the National Enquirer for wrongly reporting that the real reason Kidman was joining Urban on his Graffiti U World Tour was to save their marriage. The outlet contended that the actress was hoping to “keep the spark alive” by going on the road with her husband, but the plan could backfire as the country star was frustrated by his loss of “freedom.” Not only did Kidman’s spokesperson dismiss the story as nonsense, but shortly before it emerged, Urban shot down false rumors about his marriage during an interview on “The Kyle and Jackie O” radio show. The actress and her two daughters joined Urban on tour to spend quality time together as a family.
Last August, Gossip Cop busted the Globe for falsely claiming Kidman was filing for divorce from Urban. The tabloid said the actress was tired of her husband’s so-called “wandering eye, his history of drug addiction and lies.” The outlet provided zero proof of the musician ever cheating or lying. As for his history with addiction, Urban has been sober for 13 years and has credited his wife with helping him get clean from drugs and alcohol. As time has proven, the actress never filled out any divorce papers.
Last April, Gossip Cop debunked an NW story about Urban begging Kidman to take a break from work to save their marriage. The outlet alleged the couple’s relationship was “hanging by a thread” over time spent apart, but the actress refused to scale back her work commitments. Shortly before the false report was published, Urban revealed in an Australian radio interview that he and Kidman “try and schedule pretty much everything so that we’re not away from each other for more than a handful of days.” Kidman has also opened up about balancing their work schedules to ensure they spend time together as a family. And as noted above, Kidman did in fact take some time off to go on the road with her husband.
Gossip Cop also busted Woman’s Day Australia last April for wrongly alleging that Kidman and Urban’s marriage was “over.” The outlet contended that both stars were consulting with divorce lawyers following constant fighting and failed counseling. The magazine even maintained that the two would be headed for a custody battle over their two young daughters. Not only did the actress’s rep assure us the report was baseless, but just a few weeks prior to it being published, Urban discussed his happy marriage on the Australian morning show “Sunrise.” The country star noted that despite their busy careers, the two “prioritize” their marriage above all else and have managed to “stay grounded” throughout the years.
And finally, Gossip Cop called out New Idea last year for publishing a phony cover story about Kidman and Urban getting a “$413 million divorce.” The unreliable magazine claimed the country star had moved out of the family’s home, while he and Kidman were preparing to divide their assets and hash out a custody agreement over their daughters. But just days before the bogus report hit newsstands, the happy spouses attended the ACM Awards, where they cozied up together on the red carpet.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
