Nicole Kidman is not pushing the producers of "Big Little Lies" to cast her husband Keith Urban in a role, despite a made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this rumor. We're told on background that it's simply false.
According to Star, the actress wants her husband to join the second season of the HBO series so she can spend time with him on set. A so-called "source" tells the magazine, "She's pushing hard for producers to write a role for him, but that's highly unlikely. He's a country singer, not an actor. Adding him would just be a distraction. This isn't the Keith and Nicole reality show."
The unreliable magazine also regurgitates the false rumor that Kidman is upset about Meryl Streep joining the show out of fear she's going to get upstaged. "She thinks being paired with Keith onscreen will snatch some of the attention back from Meryl," adds the alleged insider. But as Gossip Cop previously noted, Kidman was the one who convinced Streep to join Season 2, so there's still no truth to this claim.
As for Urban, the country star has no intention of joining the HBO show, nor is his wife campaigning for him to score a role. In fact, Kidman recently said she has no plans to collaborate with her husband onscreen. "I don't think that having a cameo on one of my projects would interest him," the actress revealed. Also, Urban is about to kick off a world tour, so he wouldn't have time to film the show even if any of this was true.
It's worth noting, Star has repeatedly proven to know very little about the couple's marriage. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for publishing a bogus cover story alleging that Kidman and Urban had separated. The untrustworthy magazine also claimed the actress and country singer were divorcing in 2016. Obviously, the happy spouses are still going strong.
The publication is no better when it come to accurately reporting about "Big Little Lies." Gossip Cop previously debunked the outlet's tall tale about Kidman feuding with Reese Witherspoon on set. We've also called out the magazine for making up stories about Urban being jealous of his wife's friendship with co-star Alexander Skarsgard. As proven above, this latest article surrounding the actress's marriage and career is similarly untrue.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
