Are Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban adopting a baby from war-torn Syria? That is what one of this week’s celebrity magazines is reporting. Gossip Cop, however, can exclusively debunk the claim. We’re told it’s untrue.

According to the Globe, Kidman has been “hassling” Urban about “growing their family.” Already parents to daughters Sunday, 10, and Faith, 8, the actress has “never given up hope for more children,” says the tabloid’s so-called “insider,” who adds Kidman “doesn’t understand why Keith won’t give in to her demands.” The magazine’s tipster alleges that, in an attempt to change Urban’s mind, the “Big Little Lies star” has been showing him “photos of needy tots in war-torn Syria.”

But the country singer is standing his ground. The outlet’s anonymous source asserts Urban “cruelly” responds to the heartbreaking images by telling Kidman how adoption “won’t solve the world’s worries. “After noting how they have successful careers and two adorable girls, the tipster contends that Urban “doesn’t understand [Kidman’s] utter misery and lack of fulfillment over not being able to have more kids.”

While the tabloid’s tale is based on unverifiable remarks made by an unnamed and untraceable “source,” Gossip Cop reached out to Kidman’s rep, who is authorized to speak on her behalf, and we’re exclusively told the magazine’s story is untrue. Kidman is not looking to expand her family at this time. “I’m past that point now,” she told “Entertainment Tonight” two years ago when asked if she planned on having more children. She even noted back then, “I’m very thrilled with what I have.”

Equally significant, the outlet has been wrong before about Kidman and Urban. In August 2018, two months after the couple celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary, the tabloid insisted Kidman and Urban were on the verge of filing for divorce. At the time, Gossip Cop confirmed it was untrue, and now seven months later it’s clear the two are still very much together.

Nor is this the first time a tabloid has spun a tale about the celebrity couple expanding their brood. For example, the Globe’s sister publication, Star, untruthfully maintained this past January that Kidman was pregnant with Urban’s “miracle baby.” Again, that narrative was predicated on an unidentifiable “source,” while Gossip Cop confirmed it was inaccurate with Kidman’s own camp. Much like the aforementioned stories, which didn’t hold up over time, the latest article about Kidman wanting to adopt a baby from Syria is also wrong.
