Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes did not secretly meet up in Paris to gossip about mutual ex-husband Tom Cruise, despite a phony tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the fictional story. We're assured it never happened.
Late last month, Kidman jetted to Paris to attend the wedding of "Big Little Lies" co-star Zoe Kravitz. Around the same time, Holmes was in town to attend a special festival at Disneyland Paris. NW has now decided to concoct a bogus article involving the two actresses simply because both were once married to Cruise and in France at the same time.
According to the outlet, Holmes invited Kidman to her suite at the Four Seasons hotel, where they spent several hours talking about Cruise. A supposed insider tells the publication, "Katie confided in Nicole about why Tom's barely seen [their daughter] Suri since they split." It's widely believed that Cruise's involvement in Scientology has played a major role in his estrangement from his daughter. "Katie mentioned she was planning on meeting with Tom to discuss a new custody settlement going forward, but Nic advised her to tread carefully," adds the alleged source.
The questionable tipster further contends Kidman related to Holmes "how she'd been blindsided by Tom," in regards to his dedication to Scientology, "and wished things had been different. Katie said she felt her pain and actually started crying. It was really emotional for her." The suspicious source adds, "She told Nicole it was such a relief to finally connect with her, given she's the only other person who knows exactly what she's been through. They agreed to stick together and made a pact to ensure history doesn't repeat itself again."
The magazine hides behind an anonymous and untraceable "source" to sell its story, but Gossip Cop checked in with Holmes' spokesperson, who tells us on the record that it's nonsense. The actress's rep, who's qualified to speak on her behalf, assures us she never met up with Kidman in Paris last month. The two actresses simply never shared a heart-to-heart about their divorces from Cruise.
Unfortunately, NW has a habit of coming up with fictional scenarios surrounding the Mission: Impossible star and his ex-wives. A few months ago, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Kidman was having a breakdown because her adopted kids with Cruise, Isabella and Connor, were embracing Scientology. The actress herself, however, recently opened up about her children's involvement in the religion, making it clear she supports their freedom to make their own decisions and will "always offer unconditional love."
Last year, Gossip Cop also called out the publication for wrongly maintaining Cruise was battling Holmes for equal custody of their daughter Suri. There was no truth to the narrative, and the movie star still remains estranged from his daughter. This latest article involving a secret meeting between Kidman and Holmes has more in common with creative writing than journalism.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
