Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are NOT getting divorced because of his alleged “secret ties” to Scientology, despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s a “fabrication.”

According to the National Enquirer, Urban’s “shocking secret ties” to the Church of Scientology during the 1990s could push Kidman to the breaking point. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “The marriage was already on the ropes, and this could be the knockout blow.” The outlet’s questionable “insider,” who was supposedly close to Urban during the ’90s, contends, “The last few times I talked to him, Keith was talking about being a Scientologist. He wasn’t with Nicole then.”

What’s more, the magazine’s ill-informed source further claims, “He was pretty into it.” Noting that Urban was struggling at the time, the tabloid’s insider alleges, “He was desperate to make it. He would consider anything that would help him, including Scientology.” The Enquirer asserts Kidman would be furious about Urban’s “betrayal,” if she knew he dabbled in the controversial religion, and the news of it would push her “over the edge.” “The church busted up her relationship with Tom Cruise AND named her a ‘suppressive person,’ she’ll be livid if she finds out,” writes the outlet. “This would be the final insult for Nicole,” continues its dubious insider, adding, “Keith KNOWS how much she hates Scientology.”

Here’s what’s true about the tabloid’s story: Kidman was married to Tom Cruise, who’s an ardent believer in the teachings of the Church of Scientology. Here’s what’s not true about the tabloid’s story: Pretty much everything else. A source close to Kidman and Urban exclusively tells Gossip Cop , the magazine’s report is a “fabrication.”

Sadly, we’re used to the supermarket tabloid publishing inaccurate articles. In February, Gossip Cop busted the publication for falsely alleging Urban was flirting with the “American Idol” contestants. And shortly before that tall tale, we corrected the magazine for wrongly claiming Urban had discovered Kidman’s secret sex journals. None of the stories were true, and neither is this latest report.
