Is Nicole Kidman really on a diet consisting primarily of coffee? That’s the claim coming from one of this week’s tabloids, but Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight. We’re told it’s “laughable.”

The allegation can be found in the latest issue of Star. In an article titled, “Nicole’s Crazy Coffee Diet,” the magazine contends Kidman is at her “lowest weight in years,” thanks to a “diet practice called coffee fasting.” According to the tabloid’s source, “Nicole gets up at 7 a.m., but her first meal isn’t until the afternoon,” adding that she’ll “typically go 14 to 16 hours between meals and only rely on coffee for sustenance.”

The publication’s so-called “insider” goes on to maintain that “a lot of fitness and health pros say that intermittent fasting is the best way to eat because it allows the body to have a break from constantly digesting food.” The tabloid’s questionable tipster further asserts, “Nicole says she’s got way more energy and that it’s helping her feel as good as she looks.”

Gossip Cop investigated the claim, and Kidman’s camp tells us the report is simply “laughable” and “not true.” While she’s undeniably in great shape, Kidman admitted she’s “not that strict” with her diet in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “I pretty much eat anything, but all in moderation,” she said. Clearly, the actress isn’t on a “crazy coffee diet,” nor does she go without food for the majority of the day.

It should be noted, this isn’t the first time Star has gotten one of its stories about Kidman completely wrong. Gossip Cop previously called out the tabloid when it falsely alleged in an article that Kidman took pole dancing lessons to spice up her love life with Keith Urban. There was no truth whatsoever to that report, and this latest one about her being on a “coffee diet” is equally off-base.
