Nicole Kidman is not setting up Charlize Theron with one of Keith Urban's friends, despite a made-up tabloid report. The story is totally fabricated. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
"Charlize Asks Nicole To Play Matchmaker!" reads a headline in the latest issue of Star. The accompanying article says Theron has asked Kidman to help her find a boyfriend. "Charlize is bored with being single," a supposed source tells the outlet. "And Nicole knows every eligible man in Hollywood, from agents to producers to actors, so she's making potential suggestions."
The alleged insider goes on to say that Theron "has a thing for musicians," so Kidman wants to set her up with one of her husband's pals. "But Charlize is very picky," says the questionable tipster, adding that Kidman is determined to find a partner for the fellow actress despite Theron being demanding when it comes to her love life. "She jokes that if she finds Charlize The One, she'd better be the maid of honor!"
It's worth immediately noting, this idea that Theron "has a thing for musicians" isn't particularly accurate. The actress's most high-profile romances have been with actors Sean Penn and Stuart Townsend, the latter whom she dated for nearly a decade. She's hardly a groupie. Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who assures us the magazine's article is bogus. Kidman hasn't been on a mission to find Theron a date, either with one of Urban's friends or anyone else.
The tabloid's phony article seems to have been written to capitalize on the friendship between Kidman and Theron, who co-star together in the upcoming movie Bombshell. Last month, Theron joked about her single status on Instagram by posting a photo of herself alongside Kidman and fellow co-star Margot Robbie. She captioned the image, "I feel like I have to be honest. I'm in a new relationship. With both these ladies. For real."
Gossip Cop has already caught Star making up stories about the actress's love life. In October 2018, the tabloid falsely claimed Theron had been secretly dating Brad Pitt for around a year. This past February, the magazine alleged Angelina Jolie hired private investigators to spy on Pitt and Theron. In addition to that entire saga being untrue, this latest article makes no mention of the actress having been in any sort of relationship with Pitt.
We're actually sort of surprised the outlet didn't attempt to create a fake feud between Kidman and Theron, as that's typically what the tabloids do with female co-stars. It probably helped that Theron shared that Instagram photo mentioned above. Still, this "matchmaker" angle isn't accurate either.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
