Nick Gordon Arrested

(Seminole County Sheriff’s Office)

Nick Gordon was arrested for domestic violence on Saturday after allegedly kidnapping and beating up his girlfriend. The arrest comes two years after he was accused of being involved in Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death.

It was reported in April that Gordon had a new girlfriend, believed to be his first since Brown died in 2015. Identified as a woman named Laura, the couple posted about their relationship on Instagram. It’s unclear if the victim in this domestic violence case is the same person.

The incident in question went down in Sanford, Florida on Friday night. Gordon is accused of assaulting the girlfriend to the point where she required medical attention at a hospital. She reportedly went to the police on Saturday, claiming Gordon abused her and held her in a residence. Gordon was tracked down at the property and taken into custody.

Jail records from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office show Gordon was booked for felony domestic violence and false imprisonment of an adult. TMZ, which broke the news of the arrest, obtained photos of the reported victim with her alleged injuries. The pictures appear to show bruising on her body, but her face is not in any of the snapshots.

At the time of this posting, Gordon is still in custody. As Gossip Cop reported, last September Gordon was found legally responsible for Brown’s death in a civil court. After he failed to show up for a court hearing, a judge issued a default judgment in favor of Brown’s conservatorship. In November, Gordon was ordered to pay $36 million as punishment.

In the wrongful death lawsuit, a conservator for Brown’s estate accused him of physically and emotionally abusing her before allegedly dragging her to the bathtub, where she was later found face-down and unconscious. The suit also claimed Gordon gave her a “toxic” injection of drugs. Brown was in a coma from January until July 2015, when she succumbed to her injuries. The cause of death was initially sealed due to the criminal investigation, but later revealed to be the result of pneumonia caused by water immersion and drug intoxication.

The coroner, however, did not determine the manner of death, and questions about what really happened remain. Gordon, who always maintained his innocence, has never been criminally charged in connection with Brown’s passing.
