NeNe Leakes wanted to be a weight loss spokesperson but was rejected, according to a wrong report in this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can bust this mean-spirited story. We've actually learned the gossip magazine in question knew its tale was untrue, but chose to publish it anyway.
The outlet is Life & Style, which has a cruel article about Leakes in its current issue, under the headline, "NeNe Turned Down As Weight-Loss Spokesmodel." The publication alleges the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star is "always looking for ways to get richer," but her "latest easy-money plan — getting paid to endorse a major weight-loss product — isn't panning out so far." A so-called "source" rudely tells the tabloid that Leakes has "put on a few extra pounds," and claims she has been "reaching out to companies in hopes of getting a deal like Oprah Winfrey has with Weight Watchers or Marie Osmond has with Nutrisystem."
But while Leakes "would love to be the face and body of a weight-loss company," according to the magazine, the problem is that "no one's been interested" in hiring her. Alleges the supposed insider, the reality star is a "hothead," who "sticks her foot in her mouth way too much." "No big company wants to gamble that she can keep her attitude at bay," contends the outlet's purported tipster.
A rep for Leakes, however, exclusively tells Gossip Cop, "There is absolutely no truth to this fabricated story." In fact, we're told the publication was advised it "would be knowingly printing false information for the sake of a headline" if it ran the untruthful allegations. Not only did the tabloid did regard advisory, but its report doesn't even acknowledge that her camp disputed the claims and issued a denial.
It's also worth noting that Leakes has been flaunting her body on Instagram and Twitter, which goes against the notion that she's unhappy with her appearance and looking to slim down with the help of a diet endorsement deal. One of the pictures the TV personality shared even showed her in a sheer dress, through which her chest was visible. In response to some critical comments the photo provoked, Leakes wrote, "I'm very comfortable in the skin I'm in." With that confident mindset, she's obviously not concerned with her size and any "extra pounds." If anyone stuck their foot in their mouth here, it's Life & Style.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
