One of this week's tabloids claims Natalie Portman and her husband Benjamin Millepied are living "separate lives." The story is completely false. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to OK!, the choreographer doesn't support his wife's career and has "no desire to be her plus-one" at Hollywood events. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "She's realizing more and more that his dedication to his own craft and career takes precedent over hers."
The outlet's questionable source adds, "He'll say that it's her time to shine, but Natalie can't help but feel that he uses that as an excuse so he can do what he wants instead. It's frustrating for her."
Nothing about the tabloid's article is remotely factual. For starters, Portman and Millepied attended the L.A. Dance Project's annual gala last weekend. The couple happily posed together on the red carpet, proving they're not on the verge of a split or living "separate lives." In fact, a photo from inside the event shows Portman and Millepied kissing at their table.
Additionally, Millepied raved about Portman while being interviewed at the event by Us Weekly. When asked about his wife's involvement in the #MeToo movement, the choreographer said, "Her work has been an inspiration." Millepied went on to commend the actress for being driven "to make the world a better place." He also noted that Portman has "been incredibly generous and considerate" when it comes to supporting his career.
Meanwhile, the claim that the choreographer doesn't also support his wife's career is baseless. Last month, Millepied accompanied Portman to the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of her upcoming movie Vox Lux. The couple was photographed enjoying the sites while in town for the event. The Daily Mail posted photos of Portman and Millepied in Venice and noted that the spouses "looked smitten as they hopped onboard a river taxi before going hand-in-hand for a stroll around the city."
In addition to all of the evidence listed above, Gossip Cop also checked in with a source close to Portman, who tells us on the condition of anonymity that the tabloid's story is simply "not true." It should be noted, we busted Star in July 2016 for falsely claiming that the actress and her husband were headed for a divorce. That phony article said Portman was spotted looking sad in London without her wedding ring. In reality, the happy spouses are still going strong more than two years later.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
