Is Miranda Lambert secretly married to Evan Felker? One of this week’s tabloids claims the performers recently wed… because Lambert is pregnant. Gossip Cop, however, can bust the very wrong story.

According to OK!, Lambert and Felker “tied the knot in late August for one very good reason: They’re expecting!” It’s alleged “the already expectant couple said their ‘I do’s’ at Miranda’s 400-acre mountainside Tennessee estate, just days after he legally became a single man on Aug. 16.” In fact, it’s claimed Felker rushed his divorce because he and Lambert had “time-sensitive plans — like getting married and starting a family.”

“It was touch and go there for a while [before the papers were signed], and if any issues had come up, they would have had to cancel the wedding,” a so-called “source” is quoted as saying. “Fortunately, the divorce cleared and Evan was a free man… The ink was barely dry on Evan’s divorce papers.” The magazine goes on to contend Felker “happily jumped back into married life and exchanged emotional vows with Miranda in front of a local pastor and a couple of friends,” who supposedly served as “witnesses.”

And prior to the nuptials, claims the outlet, Lambert “found time — and made it a priority — to clear the air” with ex-husband Blake Shelton. “Miranda and Blake had a tearful phone call the night before the wedding,” alleges the untraceable insider, who asserts, “She had a lot to get off her chest, and she told Blake how sorry she was for the way things went down. I heard Blake was genuinely touched and wished her well.” The phrase “I heard” indicates that the purported snitch is merely sharing hearsay, not something that’s confirmed fact.

From there, the publication maintains Lambert’s alleged pregnancy is “still in the early stages — so early, in fact, that Miranda won’t even be showing when she performs the final dates of their ‘The Bandwagon Tour.'” Insists the questionable tipster, “For now, they’re keeping the news to themselves but plan on making an announcement soon.” Actually, there have been a couple of announcements already.

Last week, it was announced that Felker’s band, Turnpike Troubadours, had canceled their final appearances on Lambert’s tour. Then shortly after, Lambert revealed she’s “happily single,” confirming she and Felker had split. Obviously then, they have not married. And there is no evidence Lambert is expecting his baby.

What’s also notable is that this week, the tabloid’s sister magazine, Life & Style, peddled a cover story claiming Lambert and Felker are planning a wedding, and want to have a child, too. How do two outlets from the same company make such big claims that are so inconsistent with each other? It makes no sense for one publication to say Lambert is pregnant and married while the other says she’s getting married and hopes to have a baby.

Of course, irrespective of those glaring discrepancies, the bottom line remains the same in both cases: Lambert and Felker are no longer together, and if OK! and Life & Style had real “sources,” as they purport, they would’ve known that, and never would’ve manufactured these stories in the first place.
