Miley Cyrus and Paris Jackson are not feuding over who will play Madonna in an upcoming biopic, despite a tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the made-up story.

It was recently reported that a movie about Madonna’s life is in the works, although the superstar has no involvement in the project and has actually condemned it. And last week, Gossip Cop busted the Mirror for claiming Jackson would be playing Madonna in the flick. A rep for the rising star exclusively told us she had not been contacted for the part, and stressed that “any reports of her casting are just speculative.”

Well, now the National Enquirer has taken that speculation and turned it into full-on fake news. “Miley Fights Paris For Sex-Drenched Madonna Movie,” blares a headline in the new issue. A so-called “spy” claims to the supermarket tabloid that Jackson is now “facing super-steep competition” from “famed front-runner” Cyrus.

“Miley’s fighting tooth and nail to play Madonna,” alleges the gossip magazine’s supposed source, who further contends the pop star envisions winning an Oscar for the role. Notes the outlet’s purported tipster, “Miley’s got oodles more acting experience than Paris.” Yes, Cyrus does have more experience than Jackson, but that doesn’t mean they’re competing over the film.

In fact, contrary to this article’s assertions, Cyrus actually has little interest in starring in the movie. She even gave her blessing to Jackson. “Paris Jackson would be a great Madonna. They’ve been taking pictures of her. Have you seen her doing all her covers?” Cyrus said in a radio interview earlier this week.

Cyrus went on, “She looks so much like Madonna, it kinda freaks me out sometimes. She’d be great. I think they should cast her. I think I’m the wrong pick. I think I’m wrong for it. I think Paris Jackson should do it.” The comments prove that far from fighting Jackson for the role, Cyrus is actually campaigning for her to get it.

Now, as noted above, Jackson currently has no real attachment to the biopic. So, between that and Cyrus going on record to say she’s not the best person for the gig, it’s abundantly clear this this story about the pair feuding over portraying Madonna is completely wrong. Of course, the National Enquirer has a history of being wrong about both stars.

Last June, the tabloid made up a story about Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s wedding plans. Now nearly a year later, the couple still hasn’t married. More recently, just last month, the magazine falsely accused Jackson of buying her modeling career. That was after spreading fake news about Jackson joining “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” It’s quite apparent the disreputable publication doesn’t know what it’s talking about with either celeb.
