Miley Cyrus is not returning to her “naughty” persona because her current, more tame album Younger Now is not a huge commercial hit, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can correct the seemingly made-up claim. We’re told the assertion is “silly” and that Cyrus makes music which reflects who she is at a given time.

According to the National Enquirer, Cyrus may have “cleaned up her act, but her squeaky-clean routine hasn’t been a hit with fans, so get ready for naughty Miley’s return.” A so-called “insider” claims in the supermarket tabloid, “Miley’s new super-sweet image was to support her new CD. However, once you have let the beast out of the bottle, you cannot put it back in.” The same questionable source adds, “With the CD not selling very well, expect the return of raunchy Cyrus really soon… She’s just pretending to be Hannah Montana again, and it is not working.”

Far be it for Gossip Cop to question the same magazine that once published an article maintaining Cyrus said Liam Hemsworth’s penis set off airport security alarms. Of course, that was untrue, as were a number of the tabloid’s other stories about the singer, including one that false alleged Cyrus was fighting Paris Jackson to play Madonna in a biopic. In fact, Cyrus said in a radio interview earlier this year that Jackson “looks so much like Madonna… She’d be great. I think they should cast her. I think I’m the wrong pick.”

Irrespective of the magazine’s provably wrong past reports, Gossip Cop still looked into the tabloid’s latest contention about the singer returning to her “naughty” persona, and a source connected to Cyrus, who spoke with us on the condition of anonymity, assures us the Enquirer’s latest tale is “silly.” Actually, Cyrus herself has explained in a series of interviews while promoting Younger Now that she and her music have changed with the times and she has no regrets. Of her 2013 hit “Wrecking Ball,” in which she was naked in the video, Cyrus noted to NME, “I feel like it doesn’t reflect who I am now, but that’s fine… I’m sure I’ll say the same thing about [Younger Now] at some point.”

And when Cyrus did “Carpool Karaoke” with James Corden she said of her old “Hannah Montana” days, “I love that that was me, and is me, and is still a part of me.” She explained, “I’ve allowed that childhood self to shine through a little bit more… I think everyone should embrace who they used to be, because it’s made you who you are now.” Gossip Cop once again takes Cyrus’s own words and information from an individual in her inner circle over the tabloid’s claims.
