Miley Cyrus performed “Malibu” on TV for the first time at Sunday’s 2017 Billboard Music Awards. Watch the video below!

In a Billboard cover story released earlier this month, Cyrus revealed “Malibu” would be the first single from her upcoming album. The song was inspired in part by her relationship with Liam Hemsworth. “They’re going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, ‘This is how I feel’?” the pop star explained in the interview. Hemsworth even shot the photo used for the track’s cover art.

Cyrus premiered “Malibu” and its accompanying music video on May 11, and has since then been promoting the track in radio interviews and during television appearances. As Gossip Cop reported, Cyrus dropped by the “Today” show this past week, and she’ll be back at the NBC morning show this Friday for a full-on concert in Rockefeller Plaza. As a coach on “The Voice,” a job to which Cyrus is returning for season 13 in the fall, the singer is right at home on the network’s shows, including “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Cyrus stopped by not once but twice last week.

Some fans have already had the opportunity to see Cyrus sing “Malibu” live, as she was a special guest performer at last weekend’s Wango Tango in Los Angeles. But for millions watching at home, the BBMAs mark the first time they’re getting to see Cyrus perform the track. And with her new album due later this year, Cyrus could be at next year’s ceremony as a nominee. She’s already a two-time winner, taking home Top Streaming Artist and Top Streaming Song for “Wrecking Ball” in 2014. Check out the video of the “Malibu” performance below!
