One of this week's tabloids claims Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are headed for a split because the singer has returned to her wild ways. The premise is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
Last week, Cyrus admitted in an interview that she started smoking marijuana again after quitting in early 2017. The singer, however, made point of noting that she only smokes "every now and then" and never while she's working. According to NW, Cyrus' revelation isn't sitting well with her fiance, who's threatening to dump the singer if she doesn't clean up her act.
An alleged insider tells the magazine, "This is all like deja vu for Liam, and he doesn't like it one bit. He's warned Miley that he will call off the engagement if she doesn't get herself sorted." The supposed source adds, "It's so sad for him to see Miley slide back into these old habits. It was a minor miracle they recovered from their past splits, and everyone knows it was her partying that was the problem back then."
The questionable tipster further contends that Hemsworth "is serious when he says Miley better shape up or else, but anyone who knows Miley will tell you she doesn't take kindly to threats." The seemingly phony source adds, "It just doesn't bode well, and everyone in their circle is concerned. If she keeps on this way, it could be the beginning of the end for Miley and Liam."
None of this is remotely accurate. Over the weekend, Hemsworth supported Cyrus at "Saturday Night Live," where she served as the musical guest for the final show of the season. Following the taping, the happy couple was spotted holding hands while heading to the "SNL" afterparty. Cyrus also shared backstage photos of the two on Instagram, referring to her fiance as her "hot date" in one of the posts.
Just last week, Cyrus gushed about Hemsworth during appearances on both "The Howard Stern Show" and "The Tonight Show." During both guest spots, the singer expressed gratitude for her fiance for saving their pets during the California Wildfires that destroyed their home.
In addition to all of the evidence proving the couple's relationship is going strong, Gossip Cop also checked in with a source close to the situation, who assures us the singer and the actor aren't headed for a split. This narrative was seemingly created simply because Cyrus admitted that she occasionally smokes weed again. However, the idea that the singer is out of control and her fiance is threatening to end their relationship simply isn't true.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
