Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are not "shopping for cribs," despite a new claim. Gossip Cop can debunk the untrue allegation. The couple is not intending to have a child in the near future, so they have no need to stock up on baby supplies.
But on its website, OK! claims Cyrus and Hemsworth are "prepping their household for an extra addition" and have "babies on the brain" to the point where "they're already planning their nursery." A so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "There's no word on if she's actually pregnant yet, but she wants to be, and they're having a great time putting together a nursery for their new Nashville dream home."
"They've already narrowed down which crib they want," continues the tabloid's supposed source. "Miley loves the idea of kitting it out with great vintage pieces and is trawling Pinterest for inspiration." To fill out its tale, the gossip magazine points out Cyrus and Hemsworth "recently purchased a $5.8 million mansion in Nashville," and notes that "there's also been reports that the two recently secretly married." Adds the outlet, "Now, they're making room for one more!"
Of course, if the publication really has an "insider" as claimed above, it should know for sure whether or not the stars have tied the knot, instead of just relying on "reports." And while it's true Cyrus bought a farm home, it wasn't done "recently" and it's not actually "in Nashville." The residence is roughly 30 minutes away in Franklin, Tennessee, and the singer made the purchase back in August, nearly six months ago.
It seems the actual impetus for this story was photos of Cyrus out and about with Hemsworth in Australia, the pictures of which are featured on the tabloid's site and accompany the "shopping" claims. But the outing had nothing to do with preparing for a baby, which is not on the couple's immediate agenda, contrary to this report.
OK! actually has an awful track record when it comes to such narratives. For example, last May Gossip Cop busted the magazine when it falsely claimed the couple was "trying for twins," after wrongly speculating she was pregnant in 2016. And Cyrus herself shot down pregnant rumors just a couple of months ago.
Around the same time, Gossip Cop caught the outlet fabricating a cover story about Cyrus and Hemsworth being married in a secret wedding. But Cyrus' own mom Tish said in a radio interview with Mario Lopez, "She is not getting married" anytime soon.
It's telling that the publication isn't standing by its own assertions now, but instead merely referring to "reports" that they "secretly married." If you want suspicious rumors, there's the gossip media. But if you want to know what's real and what's not, stick with Gossip Cop.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
