A report about Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s romance “crumbling” is false. This story comes from the same site that untruthfully reported last month that the couple broke up. Gossip Cop can bust it.

In early July, RadarOnline wrongly announced that Cyrus and Hemsworth had “split for the second time.” In that inaccurate piece, it was asserted their romance had been “hanging by a thread for months,” and was now over. After it became clear they were still together, the blog tried to claim Hemsworth and Cyrus were “on the rocks.” That wasn’t true, either. And then came a third phony story at the end of the month, about Cyrus and Hemsworth signing a purported “pact” to “save their failing romance.”

Now two weeks later, the website is backing to alleging the relationship “hangs by a thread,” after their “pact” supposedly “failed.” A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “The fact they’re admitting their engagement is in limbo is proof they’re not in a good place at all.” The untraceable tipster contends that “just six months ago they were making wedding arrangements and couldn’t stop flaunting their love to the world,” but “now they’re barely speaking.”

The outlet still maintains Hemsworth and Cyrus “called off their engagement for a second time,” and that they made a “last-ditch effort to stay together.” The online publication further asserts the pop star is “rethinking her commitment” to the actor. “She’s deleted all her posts about Liam and it’s more of a friendship while they figure things out,” claims the alleged “source,” who adds, “They’re buying time, basically, while Liam lays down the law about her partying and sees if she can calm down.”

The site, however, has no examples of Cyrus “partying” and needing to “calm down.” That’s just one of the significant flaws in this narrative. Another is the contention that she and Hemsworth have admitted their engagement is in “limbo.” That’s not what happened at all. In actuality, TMZ reported earlier this month that Cyrus and Hemsworth are in no rush to get married, because the “formality of marriage isn’t important,” and their engagement itself is a “symbol of commitment.” And just days ago, Hemsworth and Cyrus were seen having lunch together.

The claim about Cyrus deleting “all her posts about Liam” is inaccurate, too. What the unidentifiable “source” doesn’t tell readers is that the singer wiped her whole Instagram clean, not simply posts having to do with her beau. As “Entertainment Tonight,” and other outlets, reported last month, Cyrus deleted everything on Instagram in anticipation of her next round of music promotion. Notably, Cyrus’ Twitter page is still filled with references to Hemsworth, including a post from earlier this year when she called him one of “my favorite men.”

To recap: For more than a month, RadarOnline has been insisting Cyrus and Hemsworth broke up, despite a lot of proof to the contrary. Even just 10 days ago, TMZ did a whole story on how the couple is “amused by persistent rumors they’re splitting up” and “literally laugh them off.” At this point, Radar’s reporting really does seem like a joke. Just a very unfunny one.
