A tabloid claims Liam Hemsworth got angry with Miley Cyrus for acting wild at last week's Met Gala. There's no truth to the story. Gossip Cop can correct it.
According to In Touch, the actor got annoyed with his wife for being too "over-the-top" at the fashion event. A supposed source tells the magazine, "She was licking his face for the cameras on the red carpet, then grinding on people on the dance floor and grabbing her crotch. Just generally acting like the 'old' Miley."
The alleged insider further contends that Hemsworth "gets turned off when she acts up for the cameras" and "really doesn't like that side of her because he's the total opposite." The seemingly phony tipster adds, "She just needs to find a way to balance herself so she doesn't get her husband angry every time they step out in public together."
The tabloid's premise isn't remotely accurate. For starters, Hemsworth shared Instagram photos from the Met Gala red carpet, including an image of Cyrus sticking her tongue out. It seems highly unlikely the actor would be posting red carpet pictures if he was bothered by his wife's behavior. Additionally, Cyrus and Hemsworth happily posed together at the Gucci after party following the event. It doesn't appear there was any sort of disagreement between the two.
Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the couple, who wasn't able to speak on the record, but assures us the magazine's article is completely fabricated. In fact, this narrative isn't even original. Last month, we debunked a story alleging Hemsworth was embarrassed by Cyrus' red carpet antics at the Avengers: Endgame premiere. That article similarly stated that the actor wasn't happy about his wife "acting recklessly" at the event. The premise wasn't true when it applied to a movie premiere, and it's no more accurate in regards to the Met Gala.
The singer has been known to ham it up at red carpet events, so it's not as if this is a new trend. The idea that Hemsworth would be upset by something Cyrus has been doing for years doesn't make much sense. Of course, we're not particularly shocked by the magazine's bogus story. Gossip Cop called out In Touch in January for wrongly reporting that Cyrus was pregnant with Hemsworth's baby. Time has disproven that report.
In November 2017, Gossip Cop busted the publication for wrongly reporting that Cyrus and Hemsworth secretly got married in Georgia. The couple tied the knot in Tennessee two days before Christmas last year. It should be fairly evident at this point that the tabloid has zero insight into the relationship between the spouses.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
