Miley Cyrus is not "wasting away" following her recent splits from Liam Hemsworth and Kaitlynn Carter, despite a ridiculous tabloid story. Gossip Cop can debunk the rumor. It's completely false.
Cyrus and Hemsworth separated in August after roughly eight months of marriage. Her brief romantic relationship with Carter only lasted for a few weeks between August and September before the two agreed to keep it platonic. Calling her a "mixed-up wild child," the National Enquirer alleges the singer has dropped 23 pounds after the breakups.
The magazine's "sources" claim Cyrus has been surviving on a "diet of dope and booze while barely eating," causing anorexia fears. "Miley lights up every chance she gets," an "insider" tells the magazine. "When she does eat, it's just an odd piece of fruit or a handful of nuts. Her calories basically come from cocktails and coffee."
Citing a previous Enquirer report, the tabloid claims the former Disney star began spiraling out of control after her breakup with Carter, with whom she'd supposedly discussed having a baby. "Miley thought she was starting a family with Kaitlynn when the roof caved in," says the alleged tipster. Gossip Cop needs to interrupt here to mention that we busted that phony report about Cyrus and Carter having a baby together. It was a totally bogus claim.
"Miley just doesn't eat! Smoking weed and the lack of nutrition, combined with all the boozing, has changed her looks for the worse!" another "insider" says. "Everyone's concerned!" The magazine further alleges that Cyrus even deprives herself of water before shows to look leaner. The gossip publication then quotes a doctor who's never treated or interacted with Cyrus about the impact of the made-up "diet" the article references. The impacts of only consuming alcohol and drugs are, unsurprisingly, negative. It's a good thing that Cyrus' diet isn't even close to that.
Gossip Cop reached out to one of our sources in Cyrus' camp, who assures us that the singer has "never been healthier in her life." The basis of this outrageous work of fiction is a photo Cyrus uploaded to Instagram while on vacation with her mother and sister in Lake Powell. The tabloid contrasts the vacation picture with one of her in "healthier" times "before all her love drama." The outlet's "before" photo, however, is from 2016, more than three years ago. Of course Cyrus looks different, but it is funny that the Enquirer claims her life in 2016 was free of "love drama."
In July 2016, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid's sister outlet, Star, for another Cyrus story that again calls her a "wild child," before falsely claiming she was pregnant and Hemsworth was refusing to marry her. In May 2016, we debunked the outlet's phony article claiming Cyrus was panicking about "scaring off" Hemsworth during their engagement. So much for her "love drama" impacting her health. It seems like the tabloid's sources are just as wrong as ever.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
