“Saturday Night Live” creator Lorne Michaels did NOT stage an intervention for Miley Cyrus because she allegedly went on a “drug binge” while hosting the season premiere on October 3, despite a ridiculous new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this story. We’re told “nothing could be further from the truth.”

According to Star, Cyrus was “out of control” during the entire week she worked on “SNL.” A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “She chain-smoked weed all throughout rehearsals, readings… everything!”

The supposed “insider” goes on to claim that the sketch show’s head honcho was so concerned by Cyrus’ “outlandish behavior,” he tried to convince her mom Tish to stage an intervention. “[Lorne] is worried Miley is going to be dead in the next couple of years if she doesn’t change her wild ways,” says the tabloid’s alleged “source.”

The magazine then arbitrarily drags Lindsay Lohan’s name into the story, quoting its questionable “source” as saying, “[Lorne] feels a huge sense of guilt for not ‘saving’ Lindsay when he saw her going off the rails. He doesn’t want to see it happen again with Miley.”

As Gossip Cop reported, Cyrus did a fantastic job hosting “SNL,” impressively doing double duty as the host and musical guest. That’s hardly a feat someone on a “drug binge” could easily pull off.

Regardless, Gossip Cop is exclusively told by a source at the show that this entire account is “so untrue.” We hear Cyrus couldn’t have been nicer, and that she got along great with the entire staff. As far as the rumor about Michaels wanting to stage an intervention at “SNL,” Gossip Cop is assured “nothing could be further from the truth.”
