Miley Cyrus Gwen Stefani Returning The Voice

Miley Cyrus and Gwen Stefani are celebrating their respective plans to return to “The Voice.” NBC made the casting announcement on Tuesday via the “Today” show.

The morning show first teased a clip of veteran coach Blake Shelton saying, “I’ve got some very exciting news about season 12 of ‘The Voice.’ Stay tuned!” A short time later, it was revealed that Stefani will be returning alongside her boyfriend for the next season of the competition. They’ll be joined by Adam Levine, as usual, as well as Alicia Keys, who is currently in her debut season.

Cyrus, meanwhile, who is working alongside Keys on season 11, will be back in her red chair for season 13. The two-season renewal has the music competition on the air through 2017. And, not surprisingly, the stars are very happy about the news.

Stefani excitedly shared the video of Shelton, adding hand-clapping emojis. She also tweeted a quote from host Carson Daly, who had spoken about a fan-driven social media push for her return. “This is incredible!! Thank u guys! Gx,” the grateful singer wrote in response. She also went on to post, “@CarsonDaly I love u!! Can’t believe I get to come back?!!”

For his part, Daly said on Twitter, “The future is bright @NBCTheVoice! Welcome back @gwenstefani.” And though she’ll be taking the next cycle off, Cyrus seems quite ecstatic about her future on the show. “Yessss!!! Im returning to @NBCTheVoice next Fall as a coach for season 13 #TeamMiley #TheVoice,” she tweeted.

Also thrilled with the plans is Alicia Keys, who posted, “Season 12 here we come!!! Can’t keep me away from my #TheVoice fam…It kinda brings out my competitive side.” As Gossip Cop has reported, the current season of “The Voice” is still in the early stages, with the Battles set to wrap up Tuesday night.
