Has Miley Cyrus "forbidden" Liam Hemsworth from working with Jennifer Lawrence on a new movie? That's the rumor going around. Gossip Cop looked into the claim.
The allegation can be found in the pages of the National Enquirer, under the headline, "Miley Lambasts Liam — Warning: Back Off That JLaw Hunger!" According to the story, Cyrus "slammed her pixie foot down when Aussie fiance Liam Hemsworth was looking to sign a movie deal with sexy former Hunger Games co-star/cutie Jennifer Lawrence." The supermarket tabloid describes the actress as "the femme fatale who'd famously confessed to behind-the-screen kissing (and Lord know what else?) with Miley's brawny beefcake!"
A so-called "Miley spy" is quoted as saying, "Miley absolutely hit the roof! She'd already seen fire-engine red and lambasted Liam after Jennifer kissed and told that she'd played ravenous hunger games with Liam when cameras weren't rolling during the filming of their hit flick, adding, 'He's hot — who wouldn't?!"" This supposed source goes on to allege to the gossip magazine, "Miley hasn't forgiven, nor forgotten — and she's forbidden Liam to co-star ever again with hunger-driven Jennifer! Miley flat-out told him, 'Fuggedaboudit!... Ain't happening, ever!'"
Gossip Cop wasn't aware Cyrus used New Jersey slang in her conversations. Of course, that completely unnatural quote is a sign that the assertion was made up. And while Lawrence did cop to kissing Hemsworth during a 2015 "Watch What Happens Live" appearance, the outlet is peddling an inaccurate version of what she said about it. In addition, this tale is all about Hemsworth "looking to sign a movie deal" with Lawrence, yet no details are provided about the purported project. More tellingly, none of the trade outlets have reported on the possibility of the pair teaming up again, when it would be publications like The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and Deadline that would break such news, not the National Enquirer.
Gossip Cop has also already busted unfounded claims of jealousy and love triangles with these three stars dating back to 2012. They were unsubstantiated then and remain so now, as Gossip Cop is told Cyrus has not put any restrictions on Hemsworth's film career, nor would she. But it's hardly surprising this tabloid is trying to dupe readers with a made-up story. Gossip Cop has debunked several ridiculous articles from the magazine about this trio this year, such as a story a month ago that absurdly claimed Hemsworth told Cyrus he saw a "real-life mermaid." That's the level of nonsense we're dealing with here.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
