Miley Cyrus is not Liam Hemsworth's "cash cow," despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this false premise. We're told it's just plain "wrong."
The claim was made in this week's OK!. According to the supermarket tabloid, the diamond engagement ring that Hemsworth bought for Cyrus is "where his splurges stop." The publication maintains Hemsworth has "barely open[ed] his wallet since he and Miley began dating." "She's always been worth 10 times more than Liam, but it's not as if he's broke; it wouldn't hurt him to pay some share of their bills," adds a so-called source.
The alleged insider says, "He lets her handle everything. She even pays for his car insurance." And while the magazine contends that Cyrus "isn't bothered by spreading her wealth," its supposed "source" claims her "family is concerned that her man is taking advantage of her deep pockets." "They're worried that she's going to go into this marriage without a prenup and that could end up being a very costly mistake," asserts the tabloid's tipster.
Let Gossip Cop cut the to chase: An impeccable Cyrus insider assures us the assertion that the singer is Hemsworth's "cash cow," and that her family is worried that he's "taking advantage of her deep pockets," is 100 percent wrong. We're told Hemsworth picks up the tab for Cyrus quite a lot.
Of course, OK! has published a slew of factually inaccurate stories about Cyrus and Hemsworth. More than a year ago, for example, the tabloid printed a report swearing up and down that Cyrus was pregnant with Hemsworth's baby. Gossip Cop said it was untrue then and once again time has proven us right.
To be sure, the outlet has peddled many other falsehoods about Cyrus and Hemsworth, but this latest one sounded familiar. That's why Gossip Cop checked its archives, and to our amazement, almost one year ago to the date, the magazine's sister publication Star printed a very similar article that untruthfully alleged Cyrus pays everything for Hemsworth. At the time, a source close to the couple told Gossip Cop there was "no truth" to the claim. The rehashed premise about Cyrus being Hemsworth's "cash cow" is no more accurate today either.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
