One of this week's tabloids claims Mila Kunis is having trouble getting movie roles because Hollywood producers think she's too "dumpy." The story is both false and insulting. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to the Globe, the actress is no longer a hot commodity in Hollywood after giving birth to two kids, daughter Wyatt, 4, and son Dimitri, 2, whom she shares with husband Ashton Kutcher. A supposed source tells the magazine, "After Black Swan, Mila was 'the' hot siren, but that's all over. Of course, moms can be hot, but Mila has really let herself go! She's been up all night for one too many nights."
The alleged insider further contends that film executives "feel Mila's too worn out to star in anything! Droopy, dumpy and plain - that's how they see her!" The questionable tipster goes on to say that Kutcher "is sort of relieved Mila isn't getting parts since it means she can be there for their kids. But he does wish she'd take better care of herself. He fell in love with the glam Mila, and now he feels like he's married to his mother-in-law!"
In addition to being incredibly mean-spirited, the tabloid's report is also completely untrue. Kunis' last movie was the 2018 action-comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me, and the actress looked anything but "dumpy" at the film's red carpet premiere last summer. Regardless, the outlet's premise is coming from an unidentified "source," but Gossip Cop checked in with the actress's spokesperson, who tells us on the record it's nonsense. Kunis hasn't been having trouble getting work based on her appearance.
The outlet seems to have concocted its phony story simply because the actress doesn't have her next film project lined up yet. That doesn't mean she's unable to score a role, and it certainly doesn't mean producers have deemed her "dumpy." The magazine's disparaging article is simply baseless.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time a tabloid has gone after the actress's physical appearance. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the Globe's sister publication, Star, for falsely claiming Kunis was losing weight over supposed marriage problems with Kutcher. The outlet alleged that the actress was on the verge of a divorce and unable to eat over it. That story also came from an anonymous "insider," but Kunis' rep told us it was entirely untrue. As time has shown, the happy spouses are still together.
Shortly before that, Gossip Cop called out the Globe's other sister outlet, Life & Style, for making up a story about Kutcher thinking Kunis was "too skinny," and it affecting her marriage. This time around, a tabloid is claiming the actress's appearance is too "dumpy," and it's impacting her career. Much like the other narratives, the current article is also fabricated.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
