One of this week’s tabloids claims Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher’s disastrous 2015 honeymoon is being turned into the plot of a movie. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the story. We’ve learned there’s no such project in the works.

During an appearance on “The Tonight Show” last month, Kunis told Jimmy Fallon about her “real-life National Lampoon honeymoon,” which saw her and Kutcher traveling the California coast in an RV along with their infant daughter and the actor’s parents. Highlights of the trip gone wrong included the van’s air-conditioning breaking down, a dangerous detour to the side of a mountain and ending up at a prison while searching for a Napa Valley winery.

According to Star, so-called “Hollywood honchos” want to turn the story into a big-screen romantic comedy. The unreliable outlet writes, “While Mila jokes that the unromantic vacay seemed like it was right out of a comedy, studios aren’t laughing. They’re serious about turning the honeymoon fiasco into a blockbuster movie.”

Tellingly, the outlet doesn’t mention which studio is behind the supposed project. It’s also worth noting, Hollywood trade publications typically break scoops about new films in development. The tabloids rarely, if ever, are first to report about a movie getting made.

Regardless, the magazine’s article is based on information from an anonymous and seemingly nonexistent “source,” but Gossip Cop checked in with a spokesperson qualified to speak on Kunis’ behalf. The actress’s rep tells us on the record that no studio has approached her or Kutcher about turning their honeymoon into a movie. Sure, the story behind the couple’s post-wedding trip might make a good romantic comedy, but it’s simply not being developed into one.

It should be mentioned, Star is the same tabloid that Gossip Cop busted last week for publishing a false cover story about Kunis and Kutcher getting a divorce over alleged “cheating secrets.” Naturally, there was zero truth to the breakup rumors. It’s quite odd that the tabloid would plaster that story on its cover, but forget all about it one week later. Nowhere in the magazine’s latest article about Kunis and Kutcher, or anywhere else in the new issue, is it explained how they repaired their marriage in one week.

It’s clear the untrustworthy publication changes narratives on a whim. This latest one about Kunis and Kutcher’s honeymoon being turned into a movie is yet another fabrication. Don’t expect such a film to hit theaters anytime soon.
