Mike Tyson did not say Hillary Clinton is the “most prolific serial killer in history.” This is fake news that is circulating online thanks to two untrustworthy websites. Gossip Cop can expose the lies.

Both YourNewsWire and Neon Nettle have articles this week headlined, “Mike Tyson: ‘Hillary Clinton Is America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer.'” The stories, though published several days apart, are virtually identical aside from different introductions and a few changed punctuation marks. Both claim the former boxer ranted about Clinton during a recent show in Las Vegas. Neon Nettle even asserts Tyson made his inflammatory comments to a “packed out audience,” yet there is no evidence that any of the purported remarks are real. Tellingly, a date for the show isn’t given.

But the two blogs quote Tyson as supposedly saying at the event, “Manson family ain’t nothing compared to the Clinton family. Ted Bundy? John Wayne Gacy? Please… that’s kiddie stuff.” It’s claimed he went on to list deaths allegedly connected to the Clintons, before saying specifically of the former presidential candidate, “Sad but true thing is we will never get justice for her. We the people will never see justice served. She’s above the law of the land.”

Both outlets maintain Tyson’s supposed statements came as he was “warming up for the next leg of his ‘Undisputed Truth 2’ speaking tour with a small show in Las Vegas.” Of course, had the star actually said anything remotely like this in front of a “packed out audience,” it would’ve been shared on social media immediately by attendees and covered extensively by the press. But searches online indicate that these alleged quotes can only be found on YourNewsWire, Neon Nettle and a couple of other fake news sites that have copied and pasted the illegitimate claims.

Perhaps the sketchy publications assumed their fictional narratives would be believed because Tyson does actually have a stage show, although there’s only one upcoming tour date in the U.S. and his Las Vegas run ended nearly a month ago. Or perhaps they figured it would seem probable that Tyson would speak badly about Clinton because he supported Trump in the 2016 presidential election. But even a cursory investigation shows Tyson never made these “serial killer” comments about Clinton.

It’s all a fabrication, and seemingly part of an ongoing effort to falsely make it seem like stars are disparaging the former Secretary of State. For example, in October Gossip Cop called out Neon Nettle for a fake news story that untruthfully claimed Morgan Freeman said Clinton “belongs in prison.” Just like with Tyson, the actor never said any such thing.
