A new tabloid report alleges ABC doesn’t want to renew Michael Strahan’s “Good Morning America” contract, but the entire story is bogus. Gossip Cop can correct this claim. We’re told it’s “untrue.”

The baseless allegation comes from the pages of OK!, which blares in a new headline, “Michael’s GMA Woes.” In the accompanying story, which is seemingly stuffed with fake quotes, the magazine suspiciously contends that the star “may soon be out of a job.” A so-called “source” is then quoted as saying, “They’re already talking about an exit strategy for him.” And according to the outlet’s dubious “insider,” Strahan “hasn’t clicked with the other anchors, and he isn’t bringing in the younger viewers they wanted.”

Gossip Cop, however, looked into this seemingly manufactured report, and it comes as no surprise that the article is a nothing more than a fabrication. Remember, we called out the very same tabloid in March when it falsely alleged that Strahan’s future at “Good Morning America” was at risk. In that story, the outlet inaccurately maintained a number of ABC executives were having second thoughts about Strahan’s position on the morning show, but of course it was entirely made-up.

Not surprisingly, the same goes for the publication’s most recent report. A source close to Strahan assures us the claim about his “Good Morning America” contract not being renewed is “absolutely untrue.” We’re further assured Strahan is a valued member of the “GMA” team and speculation otherwise is simply false.

Oddly, Strahan seems to be a target for the tabloids, despite his easygoing, lovable nature. In February, Gossip Cop debunked OK!’s sister publication, Star, for wrongly claiming in an absurd tale that Strahan and Robin Roberts were fighting on the set of “Good Morning America.” Much like that and other bogus magazine stories, this latest one about his contract is equally unfounded.
