Melissa McCarthy Reaction Sean Spicer

A new report claiming to “exclusively” know Melissa McCarthy’s reaction to the resignation of White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer is entirely made-up. Gossip Cop can expose this fake news.

Spicer stepped down from the Trump administration on Friday after a dispute over the president’s appointment of New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as the new communications director. McCarthy famously portrayed the former press secretary in a recurring guest role on the most recent season of “Saturday Night Live,” for which she scored an Emmy nomination last week. Seeing as Spicer will no longer be in the public eye on a frequent basis, the comedic actress may not get to impersonate him on the comedy show again, and HollywoodLife now claims McCarthy is “sad” about retiring the impression.

A supposed “source” tells the webloid, “Melissa feels weirdly sad that she will probably not be able to play that character again — but she loved every minute of it. Most of all she loved being a voice for the voiceless and provided humor to something she finds scary in the political climate we’re in.” But Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to McCarthy, who exclusively assures us no one her trusted inner circle told HollywoodLife how she feels about Spicer resigning. The actress may very well have “loved” the role, but the outlet has no “exclusive” insight into the situation.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time HollywoodLife has published a bogus report surrounding the iconic sketch comedy show. Gossip Cop previously called out the site for pretending to know Robert Pattinson’s reaction to Kristen Stewart hosting “SNL.” We also busted the webloid after it wrongly reported Miley Cyrus would play Tiffany Trump on the show. This latest article is equally phony.
