Mel Gibson’s girlfriend Rosalind Ross is not calling off their supposed “wedding plans” following an “explosive” fight in Rome, despite a false tabloid report. Gossip Cop looked into the story. We’ve learned it’s untrue.

“Mad Mel’s Temper Is Lethal To Wedding Plans!” reads a predictably punny headline in the latest issue of the National Enquirer. The accompanying article says the actor and his girlfriend of five years, who share a young son together, got into a heated confrontation while out for dinner in Italy earlier this month. According to the outlet, Gibson’s girlfriend stormed off during the meal and left him sitting alone at the table.

“Mel isn’t the easiest guy to get along with,” an anonymous insider tells the magazine. “Those terrible mood swings are clearly getting to Rosalind.” The alleged source further contends that the couple’s relationship is in trouble and their “marriage plans” are now out the window. “She’s getting sick of living with Jekyll and Hyde,” adds the questionable tipster.

It should be noted, the tabloid includes photos of Gibson and Ross dining at a restaurant in Rome, but the two don’t appear to be having an “explosive” fight in the images. There’s also not a single picture of the actor’s girlfriend leaving the table. Additionally, there’s zero explanation as to what the alleged altercation was all about.

Meanwhile, the publication’s story is based on the word of an unidentified “source,” but Gossip Cop reached out to Gibson’s spokesperson, who tells us in no uncertain terms that it’s “not true.” Despite what the magazine’s untraceable “insider” claims, a rep qualified to speak on the actor’s behalf confirms he didn’t get into a battle with his girlfriend in Rome. There’s also no indication that the couple is in the process of planning a wedding, so no ceremony has been called off.

The Enquirer is the same tabloid that Gossip Cop busted last year for falsely claiming Gibson was in talks to play George Michael in a biopic about the late singer. That article was a complete work of fiction. It would appear the magazine doesn’t know more about the actor’s personal than it does about his career.

In 2017, the publication made up a story about Gibson going to fat camp to lose weight. The actor’s rep told us at the time that the story was entirely “false.” As time has proven, Gibson never enrolled in such a program. This latest report focusing on the actor’s relationship is also nonsense.
