Megyn Kelly Mocks Feud

(In Touch)

Megyn Kelly is mocking rumors that falsely claim she’s feuding with Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie. Gossip Cop was the first to bust such reports, and now the journalist herself is backing up our reporting.

As Gossip Cop has reported, Kelly is now a part of NBC News. “Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly” premieres this weekend, and in the fall, she’ll host a weekday show in the 10 a.m. hour. Virtually as soon as the plans were announced in January, the New York Post wrongly claimed Kelly was hired as a replacement for Guthrie. The tabloid newspaper repeated the untrue allegation anew in February.

In January, In Touch published a cover story about Kelly and Lauer’s supposed feud, and in February erroneously said Lauer was “dumped” in favor of the former Fox News host. Then in April, more fake news was spread when the tabloid untruthfully asserted Lauer was “replaced” by Kelly. Most recently, Gossip Cop called out RadarOnline last week for a ridiculous story claiming Guthrie needs to “watch out” in the wake of Kelly’s first promo being released.

Now for the first time, Kelly is addressing being caught up in the gossip media and setting the rumor mill straight. “I’ve had my own scrutiny in the press, but this is a weird new kind,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on Wednesday. “We all know the truth.”

Kelly goes on, “Savannah and Matt and I text each other and continue to, as these articles come out, and laugh. Savannah said to me early on, ‘Welcome to the NFL. You’ve got to let it go.’ And they’re experts at it.” Gossip Cop commends that mentality, but we’ll still be here to separate fact from fiction as needed.
