Did Meghan Markle's weed-loving bodyguard put her at "risk"? That's the claim from one of this week's tabloids, which contends that the "palace is in a panic" over Markle's safety. Gossip Cop, however, can reveal the truth.
According to the National Enquirer, a "braindead bodyguard" hired to protect the "Suits" actress has been "exposed as a deadbeat" after he allegedly put her life in danger. In the magazine's article, the supermarket tabloid maintains the personal protection officer was caught "boasting about smoking dope" on social media. What's more, the royal bodyguard of Prince Harry's "bride-to-be" even offered to sneak fans onto the "Suits" set for pictures with the star. To back up its questionable premise, a so-called "royal source" is then quoted as saying, "Harry will be furious! Meghan's safety is the most important thing right now."
Wait, is the magazine essentially stating that its readers know about these supposed incidents before Prince Harry, who "will be furious"? Suffice to say, Gossip Cop was a bit skeptical of the claims, and so we investigated the tabloid's report, and we've determined the entire story is nothing more than a fabrication. Remember, we previously corrected same the outlet when it falsely alleged in a bizarre tale that Markle had a "lifetime obsession" with the late Princess Diana.
Gossip Cop actually spent a tremendous amount of time scouring social media, and we could not find anything to support the publication's contention that a bodyguard bragged about "smoking dope." After being unable to confirm the account by the Enquirer, we reached out to a source close to Markle, who tells us the report is 100 percent "false." Her security has never made those claims nor offered to sneak fans onto the "Suits" set.
As we noted above, given the tabloid's less-than-stellar track record, we're not remotely surprised by the magazine's newest manufactured report. Earlier this year, Gossip Cop called out the often disproven publication for wrongly claiming that Markle wanted to renovate Kensington Palace. That story was inaccurate, and the same goes for this latest piece of fiction involving her bodyguard.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
