Meghan Markle was not spotted wearing an engagement ring, despite a speculative report. Gossip Cop can debunk this manufactured story.

According to the repeatedly discredited Celeb Dirty Laundry, which regularly publishes conspiracy theories about the royal family instead of fact-based articles, the actress was recently photographed wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring. Without any reputable sources or evidence to back up its assumption, the often disproven site claims Markle’s “new ring” confirms her she’s officially engaged to Prince Harry.

“Both of them have been going through the usual pre-marriage checklist,” further purports the blog, adding that the couple has been “checking out potential homes together” and “meeting their in-laws.” “For all intents and purposes, it’s a done deal,” concludes the webloid. Yet there’s no proof that the couple has been going though any kind of “checklist.”

And despite how many times Gossip Cop has busted CDL and other outlets for fabricating engagement-related stories, we still checked in with a source close to the situation who assures us this entire report is not true. The couple is not engaged, and the “Suits” star was not wearing any kind of an engagement ring. As Gossip Cop already reported, Markle’s ring was wrongly said to be an “H” design for “Harry,” but as we exclusively learned, it was merely a decorative, hamsa eye evil ring. It has absolutely nothing to do with him.

Naturally, we’re not surprised by the outlet’s latest erroneous article. Only a few days ago, Gossip Cop corrected the site for falsely alleging Kate Middleton was helping Pippa Middleton ban Markle from her wedding. And shortly before that tall tale, we debunked the webloid for wrongly claiming Markle was terrified her relationship with Prince Harry would become miserable. Much like those untruthful stories, this latest claim is equally bogus.
