Meghan Markle's close friends are not organizing an English tea party for the actress once she announces her engagement to Prince Harry, despite a bogus tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this fabrication. We're told it's "made-up."
The untrue story comes from Life & Style, which blares in a new headline, "Inside Meghan's Private Engagement Party." In the accompanying article, the often disproven gossip magazine claims that while couple is waiting for the right time to announce their official engagement, close friends of the "Suits" actress are "busy planning" her private celebration party. A so-called "source" tells the outlet, "Meghan's school friends are organizing an English tea party for her in LA once she announces her engagement to Harry." The publication's alleged "insider" goes on to add, "It will be an exclusive soiree, with just five or six of her closest friends invited."
According to the tabloid, Markle will be treated to "English tea, cucumber sandwiches, scones and lemon tarts" at the supposed party. "Meghan loves the idea of a sophisticated English tea party. She isn't the kind of girl who wants a crazy Las Vegas-style affair," further purports the outlet's questionable "source." But Gossip Cop investigated, and it comes as no surprise that the entire story is manufactured.
Remember, Gossip Cop corrected the magazine in March when it wrongly claimed Markle and Prince Harry were having a Christmas wedding in the Caribbean. More recently, we busted Life & Style for falsely alleging there was tension before Markle and Prince Harry's wedding. In that nonsensical article, the magazine inaccurately reported that the pressure of "planning a royal wedding is taking a toll" on the pair, but of course, there was no such wedding in the works.
Much like those baseless stories, this latest one is equally untrue. A reputable source close to the actress tells Gossip Cop the report is 100 percent "made-up." Markle's friends are not organizing an English tea engagement party, nor is the star even engaged to Prince Harry. It's simply bogus.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
