A new story claiming Meghan Markle’s father Thomas “might not make it to her royal wedding” is entirely bogus. Gossip Cop can correct this fake news. We’re told it’s “made-up.”

According to the often discredited Celeb Dirty Laundry, which is routinely caught telling tales about the royal family, Markle’s dad Thomas might not be attending her wedding next May. Of course, the premise behind the outlet’s newly-concocted report is that Markle revealed Prince Harry is yet to meet her 73-year-old father, an Emmy award-winning lighting director.

During her post-engagement interview with the BBC on Monday, the actress said, “[Prince Harry has] talked to my dad a few times, hasn’t been able to meet him just yet, but it’s all been, it’s all been worth every effort.” From that, and without any evidence to support its claim other than the fact Thomas lives in Mexico, the unreliable site is falsely purporting that Markle’s dad will “not make it to the wedding.”

Let Gossip Cop set the record straight. As we reported at the time, Markle’s dad released a joint statement with his ex-wife Doria on Monday congratulating their daughter on her engagement. They said, “We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together.” Obviously, it goes without saying that Thomas will be attending his daughter’s royal wedding.

What’s more, Thomas even wants to walk the actress down the aisle on her big day. In an interview with Us Weekly, Markle’s half-sister Samantha said, “I’m sure [Thomas] wants to walk her down the aisle. I know he wants to do it.” Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the “Suits” star, who could not comment on the record, but we’re assured the report is “made-up.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has corrected the untrustworthy outlet for fabricating stories about the royal-to-be. For example, we busted the website just yesterday when it falsely claimed Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice were “ignoring” the announcement of Prince Harry and Markle’s engagement. Much like that inaccurate report, this latest one is equally phony.
